Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have granted Al Hilal, a football club based in Saudi Arabia, the rights to begin talks with Kylian Mbappe, following their record-breaking bid of 300 million euros ($333 million), according to an insider involved in the negotiations.
The Riyadh-based club formalized their offer via a letter, the insider disclosed. However, for such a move to materialize, the consent of Mbappe is required, who has not shown any previous inclination towards joining the rapidly advancing Saudi league.
The insider confirmed that PSG allowed Al Hilal to initiate discussions with Mbappe, as stated in the letter’s request.
Mbappe, who has one year remaining in his contract with PSG, is being encouraged by the club to make his exit now rather than leaving next summer without any compensation.
However, the 24-year-old footballer is resisting signing a new contract. The French champions suspect that he may already have negotiated a move to Real Madrid for the coming year.
The source revealed that Real Madrid, along with other clubs including Manchester United, Inter Milan, Barcelona, and Tottenham, have shown interest in Mbappe. The Saudi club is also now part of this interested group, the source added.
