The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) revealed that a total of 1941 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from Jordan in the first six months of this year.
In a statement, the UNHCR reported by “Al-Mamlaka” channel on its website today, Sunday, mentioned that a total of 16,529 Syrian refugees have returned from various host countries including Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, and Iraq to Syria in the year 2023.
In the previous year 2022, the number of Syrian refugees who returned to Syria from different host countries was 50,966, compared to 35,624 in 2021, showing a gradual increase in return rates.
As per the data provided by the UNHCR, the daily return rate to Syria in the current year stands at 91, while the monthly rate is 2,755.
Jordan has been hosting over 3.1 million Syrians since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011, with approximately 660,000 Syrian refugees registered with the UNHCR until the 5th of July this year.
