TikTok launched an ads transparency library and expanded access to its research API as well as commercial content in Europe.

The two steps aligned with the tech firm’s objectives to comply with incoming requirements under the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA).
TikTok wrote in a blog post: “Today, we’re expanding access to our Research API to Europe and opening up new transparency tools for commercial content.”

“These tools are designed to enhance transparency about content on our platform and are informed by the feedback we’re hearing from researchers and civil society,” the statement added.

A TikTok spokesman confirmed the research API is being made available to researchers working across Europe, not only those at institutions inside the EU.

The social media platform recently rolled out its exclusive music streaming service, “TikTok Music,” in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore, following its launch in Brazil and Indonesia just under two weeks ago.

Users can integrate this service with their existing TikTok profiles to listen to, download, and share music. The service features music libraries from leading record labels such as Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music.
