The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Monday that the death toll in Gaza has reached 42,289, the majority of whom are children and women, since the Israeli offensive began on October 7, 2023.

The ministry further reported that the number of injuries has risen to 98,684. Thousands of victims remain trapped under the rubble.

The ministry highlighted that Israeli forces committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, resulting in the death of 62 civilians and the injury of 220 others.

Rescue teams continue to struggle to reach victims still trapped under debris or lying in the streets, as ongoing violence prevents their access.

These latest atrocities coincide with Israel’s implementation of a new plan to forcibly displace residents from northern Gaza to the south. Urgent evacuation orders have been issued to all areas and neighborhoods in northern Gaza.

The forced displacement plan comes as the war on Gaza enters its second year, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis. Tens of thousands of people have been killed or wounded, and the extensive destruction has left life in Gaza in ruins, sparking an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
