Palestinian news agency WAFA reported a tragic escalation in casualties within Gaza, with the death toll now reaching 42,126 since the beginning of the Israeli occupation’s aggression on October 7th last year.
The majority of those killed are reported to be children and women.
According to Palestinian medical sources cited by WAFA, the number of injuries has surged to 98,117 since the start of the conflict.
Tragically, thousands remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency medical teams and civil defense units.
The agency highlighted that Israeli forces have committed four massacres against families in the region, resulting in 61 fatalities and 231 injuries admitted to hospitals within the past 24 hours alone.
The situation remains dire as rescuers struggle to reach victims buried in debris and on the streets, underscoring the urgent humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.
The World Food Programme (WFP) announced that it has been forced to stop distributing food in northern the strip due to a severe shortage of supplies.
This suspension comes as access to aid in the region faces significant challenges, with stringent restrictions making it nearly impossible for humanitarian organizations to deliver critical assistance.
The WFP reported that the ongoing shortage of supplies has resulted in the complete halt of food parcel distribution.
Bakeries in southern and central Gaza are running out of flour, exacerbating the already dire food crisis.
The inability to provide basic provisions is worsening the situation for the residents, who are struggling with severe food insecurity amidst the ongoing conflict.
In response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Russia plans to send an aircraft loaded with humanitarian aid to assist residents in the war-torn region.
A source informed Russian news agency Sputnik on Friday that the aid-laden Ilyushin Il-76 cargo plane is scheduled to depart for Egypt’s Al Arish Airport in the coming days.
