In Israel today, Monday, a ceremony was held to commemorate the first anniversary of the October 7 attack, which triggered the war in the Gaza Strip. In the settlement of Re’im, a crowd began the ceremony with a minute of silence at precisely 3:29 GMT, the time when the attack on the Gaza border settlements began. The Israeli army, marking the first anniversary of the attacks carried out by Hamas that led to an Israeli military campaign on Gaza, stated that Israel has hit more than 40,000 targets in the Gaza Strip over the past year. The army also reported discovering 4,700 tunnel openings and destroying 1,000 rocket launch sites.

Israeli military losses since October 7, 2023, include the deaths of 726 soldiers. Of these, 380 died in the military campaign, 346 in battles inside Gaza, and 56 were killed in unspecified operational incidents. Additionally, 4,576 soldiers were wounded in combat. The army further noted that 300,000 reserve soldiers have been recruited since the war began, with 82% being men and 18% women.

According to Israeli military statistics, since the start of the war, 13,200 rockets have been launched at Israel from Gaza, 12,400 from Lebanon, 60 from Syria, 180 from Yemen, and 400 from Iran.

On the Palestinian side, Israel has arrested more than 5,000 people in the West Bank and Jordan Valley over the past year, whom they suspect of involvement in militant activities. The army reported killing eight brigade commanders, about 30 battalion commanders, and 165 company commanders from armed factions in Gaza during this period. Israeli forces have continued their assault on Gaza by land, sea, and air since October 7, 2023. The latest toll, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, reports the death of 41,870 civilians and injuries to 97,166 others, the majority being women and children. Thousands more remain missing under the rubble.
