A woman was killed, and 10 others were injured in a shooting at Beersheba’s central bus station in southern Israel on Sunday, according to Israeli police.
Authorities reported that the attacker, who was armed with a gun and a knife and wearing a bulletproof vest, opened fire at the station. A search has been launched to identify any accomplices who may have helped the assailant.
Zaki Heller, a spokesman for Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, confirmed that a 20-year-old woman succumbed to her gunshot wounds. The attacker was shot by Israeli security forces and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Israel’s state broadcaster, Kan TV, identified the assailant as a resident of Hura, a Bedouin village located in the Negev Desert.
