Over the past year, Israel’s aggressive campaign in Gaza has left a trail of devastation, sparing neither mosques nor churches across the sector.

The Gaza Ministry of Religious Affairs reports that the Israeli military has completely destroyed 814 mosques and targeted 19 cemeteries, inflicting severe damage on the Palestinian populace.

According to the ministry, the total cost of the damages amounts to approximately $350 million.

The statement from the ministry highlighted that out of the 1,245 mosques in Gaza, 814 were razed by Israeli rockets and bombs.

An additional 148 mosques suffered significant partial damage, including instances where worshippers were bombed during prayers, as reported at the Followers’ School prayer room in Gaza City.

This assault has affected 962 mosques in total, over 77% of Gaza’s mosques, with three churches in Gaza City also completely destroyed.

Besides places of worship, Israeli forces have desecrated 19 cemeteries across Gaza’s provinces, completely destroying eight and partially damaging 11 others.

The ministry also reported the exhumation and desecration of thousands of graves, with bodies of the deceased and martyrs subjected to barbaric acts post-mortem.

This ongoing aggression complicates access to numerous sites, leaving some damage assessments incomplete.

As the conflict persists, the scale of destruction and cultural desecration in Gaza continues to mount, with international scrutiny intensifying.
