Hezbollah forces in Lebanon launched on Monday a series of Katyusha rockets targeting the Israeli occupation forces at the Ramim and Ramot Naftali military bases. They also conducted a drone airstrike on a gathering of Israeli soldiers at the Al-Mutalla site, along with eight other targeted attacks against Israeli military positions.

In two statements reported by the Lebanese News Agency, Hezbollah declared: “In support of our Palestinian people in Gaza and in response to the Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese villages and civilian homes, our fighters targeted the Ramim military base with Katyusha rockets and also hit the Ramot Naftali base.”

Hezbollah further stated that their forces carried out a drone attack on a group of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of Al-Mutalla. They followed this with a missile strike, which directly hit Israeli soldiers stationed near the same location.

In four consecutive announcements, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for artillery, missile, and machine-gun attacks on Israeli positions at Birkat Risha, Al-Mutalla, Al-Samaqah, and Rweissat Al-Alam in the occupied Kafr Shuba hills.

Additionally, Hezbollah targeted Israeli soldiers stationed around the Metat base and artillery positions at Al-Zaaoura with missile strikes.

The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has escalated significantly throughout 2024. Hezbollah has been launching frequent rocket and drone attacks targeting northern Israel, which intensified after Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. For example, in September 2024, Hezbollah fired over 100 rockets into Israel, marking the largest escalation since earlier in the year. These attacks are part of broader tensions involving Iran-backed militias, with Hezbollah aligning its actions to support Palestinian resistance.

Israel has responded with retaliatory strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, targeting rocket launchers and military infrastructure. Both sides have expressed readiness for potential broader conflict, with Israel increasing its military drills and preparation along the northern border.
