Saudi Arabia and Uruguay have held discussions to explore potential investment opportunities in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, aiming to bolster food security in both nations while expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The meeting took place during a visit by Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, to Uruguay, where he met with his Uruguayan counterpart, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, Eng. Fernando Mattos.

The discussions, attended by representatives from the private sector, focused on strengthening joint collaboration, sharing expertise, and enhancing investment opportunities in these vital sectors.

A key aspect of the talks was the emphasis on innovation and modern technologies to improve agricultural and livestock production efficiency. Both countries aim to leverage these advancements to enhance food security and economic growth.

Bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Uruguay have been witnessing significant progress across various sectors. In August, the first session of the Saudi-Uruguayan Joint Committee was held in Montevideo, where both nations discussed strategies for further strengthening cooperation.

The private sector was highlighted as a crucial player in the execution of joint projects.
