The Israeli army reported on Saturday that approximately 55 rockets were launched from Lebanon into northern Israel, specifically targeting the Upper Galilee region, according to reports.
The army’s statement revealed that around 35 of these rockets were detected following alarms in the Upper Galilee. While some were intercepted, most landed in open areas, causing no injuries.
Earlier, about 20 rockets were fired from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted, while others also landed in open areas, again resulting in no injuries.
The daily newspaper Maariv noted that Hezbollah launched 20 rockets at Safed and the nearby village of Akbara in the southern part of the city. Safed, located about 41 kilometers (25.5 miles) from the Israeli-Lebanese border, also endured rocket attacks on Friday night.
According to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, fires broke out in open areas near Safed due to the rocket strikes, with some areas still burning.
