In a move that underscores the growing regional cooperation, Algeria’s National Railway Transport Company (SNTF) hosted a delegation from Tunisia and Libya at its primary locomotive maintenance facility in Rouiba. This visit, as stated by SNTF, marks a pivotal moment in a series of meetings aimed at bolstering Algerian-Tunisian-Libyan cooperation in the field of international land transport for passengers, goods, and transit from August 25 to 29, 2024.

The tripartite meeting focuses on rejuvenating collaboration among the railway companies of the three nations across various sectors, including railway equipment maintenance. The visit was overseen by Aaj Bouaouni, the General Director of SNTF, alongside executives from the General Directorate and officials from the Rouiba maintenance facility.

During their tour, the delegates explored various sections and workshops at the base, gaining firsthand insight into the facility’s capabilities in maintenance. They received detailed explanations about the operational stages of locomotive maintenance.

Members of the delegation expressed their admiration for the Rouiba maintenance base, noting its advanced equipment and the technical prowess of SNTF’s engineers in maintaining, modernizing, and renewing equipment and mastering modern technology.
