In a decisive response to escalating regional conflicts, Royal Jordanian Airlines has suspended all flights to and from Beirut, as announced on Sunday.

This decision, reported by Jordanian official Petra News Agency, comes in the wake of heightened tensions following recent militant activities.

Officials have assured that Jordan’s airspace remains stable and unaffected by the current disruptions.

The suspension follows a significant military action earlier on Sunday, when the Iran-aligned Lebanese militia Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets and drones at Israel.

This aggressive strike was in retaliation for the assassination of senior Hezbollah figure Fouad Shukr in Beirut by an Israeli strike on July 30.

The Israeli military has confirmed that its fighter jets had targeted locations in Lebanon shortly before the attack, based on intelligence that Hezbollah was preparing for an offensive.

This latest escalation follows the assassination of Hamas’ political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, raising fears of a broader regional response from Iran and its allies.

The situation remains fluid, with potential implications for further destabilization in the region.

Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority announced the resumption of flight operations at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, following a temporary suspension earlier on Sunday due to military actions.

Flights were delayed as the Israeli military launched extensive strikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Roy Steinmetz, a spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed that operations at Ben Gurion Airport resumed at 4:00 GMT, including both departures and arrivals.

He noted that flights diverted to other airports would return to Ben Gurion.

On the military front, Israel’s Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated on Sunday morning that the army continues to thwart planned attacks by Hezbollah.
