The International Coalition has introduced new military reinforcements to its territories in northeast Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Wednesday.
According to the London-based observatory’s press statement, the reinforcements comprised 30 trucks loaded with logistical supplies, military equipment, and ammunition.
These trucks entered Syria from Iraq through the Al-Walid border crossing with the Iraqi Kurdistan region, heading towards the American bases in the countryside of Hasakah.
The Observatory noted that this escalation in military presence by the coalition forces is a precaution against potential Iranian attacks.
The developments follow the arrival of an American cargo plane late Tuesday night at the Kharab Al-Jeer airbase in the countryside of Rmelan, north of Hasakah.
The plane carried additional military and logistical equipment, further bolstering the American bases in the region. Meanwhile, American helicopters and drones were reported to patrol the skies above the area.
Currently, the United States maintains nine bases in Syria, with the first in the Tanf area in eastern Homs countryside, two in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, and six in Hasakah province.
This heightened military activity underscores the ongoing strategic importance of Syria in regional security dynamics and the coalition’s commitment to maintaining its foothold in the face of evolving threats.
A Syrian military source reported, on Sunday, that the United States has once again sent a convoy loaded with weapons, ammunition, and logistical equipment from Iraq to northeastern Syria.
The source told the Russian news agency “Novosti,” “U.S. forces brought in a military convoy consisting of 40 trucks from Iraq into Al-Hasakah Governorate via the Al-Waleed border crossing. The trucks were loaded with logistical equipment, weapons, ammunition, and fuel tanks.”
