King Abdullah of Jordan and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the “dangerous developments in the region,” according to the state-owned Jordanian news agency Petra. During the call, King Abdullah urged “increasing international efforts for a comprehensive cease-fire to prevent the expansion of the conflict in the region.”

The Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) reported that King Abdullah II received a call from President Macron, where they covered the dangerous situation in the region. His Majesty called for further international efforts to achieve comprehensive calm and prevent regional conflict expansion.

King Abdullah emphasized the need to halt regional escalation and unilateral Israeli actions, warning of their potential to exacerbate violence and tensions. He stressed the importance of an immediate and permanent cease-fire in Gaza to end the humanitarian suffering of the people in the Strip. He highlighted Jordan’s ongoing efforts to provide relief aid through all available means.

He reiterated the importance of working towards a political solution that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution.

The call also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and France and maintain coordination to serve their mutual interests.
