The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that the frigate “TCG Kemalreis” has conducted training exercises off the coast of Libya.

According to a statement from the ministry, the “TCG Kemalreis,” which is part of the Turkish Naval Task Group, carried out helicopter landing and takeoff drills as well as live-fire exercises off the Libyan shores, as reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

The official Twitter account of the Turkish Ministry of Defense shared photos of the “TCG Kemalreis” conducting helicopter landing and takeoff operations, as well as live-fire exercises, off the coast of Libya.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met earlier with Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, the Head of the Libyan outgoing Government of National Unity (GNU), at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkish-Libyan relations continue to evolve positively across various sectors.

He underscored the importance of initiating dialogue to ensure unity and solidarity in Libya, emphasizing the need to uphold the legitimacy of the GNU.

Turkey has expressed a keen interest in investing in Libya’s industrial sector after Turkish Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Oruç Baba İnan, met Libya’s Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mustafa Al-Samo.

The two parties underscored the significance of exchanging expertise in industrial, technological, and mining sectors.

Deputy Minister Al-Samo emphasized the importance of investment cooperation with Turkey, particularly in the fields of mining, revitalizing stalled factories, and developing industrial zones.
