Real Madrid is set to earn €123 million, excluding its share of broadcasting rights, and German coach Hansi Flick will receive an annual salary between €9 to €11 million at Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund fans have criticized UEFA in recent sports-related economic news reported by “Asharq” in its Sports and Finance section.
The football club clinched their 15th UEFA Champions League title by defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0, adding €4.5 million to their earnings from UEFA’s financial rewards for participating clubs.
This brings their total earnings to approximately €123 million, excluding their share of broadcasting rights from the competition in Spain, according to the Spanish newspaper “AS.”
Real Madrid’s share of television broadcasting rights is expected to be around €20 million.
Additionally, the club secured €3.5 million from their participation in the UEFA Super Cup, scheduled for August 14 against Italy’s Atalanta at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland.
Multiple reports indicate that Hansi Flick, the new coach for Barcelona, will receive an annual salary of €3 million, with a €1 million bonus for winning the Champions League and €750,000 for winning La Liga.
However, “Sky Germany” reported that Flick’s annual salary would be between €9 to €11 million, excluding standard performance and title-related bonuses.
Flick, who signed with Barcelona until June 30, 2026, is expected to be introduced at the start of the team’s preseason on July 8. The team will then embark on a U.S. tour starting July 28, according to Spanish newspaper “Sport.”
Borussia Dortmund fans displayed a banner during their team’s defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League final, criticizing UEFA.
The banner, written in English, stated, “You don’t care about football, you care about money,” followed by the German phrase, “No to Champions League reforms.”
According to “AS,” the fans are outraged by the new Champions League format, which increases the number of participating teams to 36 and eliminates the group stage.
