Israeli media has reported that over 10,000 soldiers in the Israeli army have sustained physical and psychological injuries since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

According to Israel’s Channel 12, as cited by Russia Today, “More than 10,000 Israeli soldiers have been injured, both physically and psychologically, since the beginning of the war on Gaza.”

Military analyst Amir Rapaport, writing for the Hebrew newspaper “Makor Rishon,” noted that hundreds of soldiers and officers have been killed in the current conflict.

Additionally, a significant number of soldiers are injured, with around 10,000 soldiers now disabled. Many of these soldiers have been diagnosed with psychological conditions.

Rapaport added that a large number of soldiers are experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He mentioned that the most effective current method for addressing this is through conversations with psychologists who frequently visit Israeli military bases around Gaza and sometimes at the northern border, engaging with soldiers before and after battles.

Amos Harel, an analyst for the newspaper “Haaretz,” explained that the operations and manpower divisions are facing emergency situations of an unexpected severity.

He highlighted that such a prolonged war of attrition was not anticipated in any war scenarios, bringing unprecedented levels of stress.

The ongoing Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has resulted in over 118,000 Palestinian casualties, including dead and wounded, most of whom are children and women.

Around 10,000 people are missing amid widespread destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues this conflict despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt its attack on Rafah, take immediate measures to prevent “genocide,” and “improve the humanitarian situation” in Gaza.
