The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has announced the departure of two relief ships from Jeddah Islamic Port on Monday, carrying over 120 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid for the Palestinian and Sudanese people.

These ships are heading to the ports of Al-Arish in Egypt and Suakin in Sudan.

Fahd Al-Asimi, Director of Emergency Relief at the center, told Asharq Al-Awsat that the relief ships are transporting 120 trucks, with 80 heading to Suakin Port in Sudan’s Red Sea State, and 40 trucks bound for Al-Arish Port in Egypt.

The aid is intended for the affected populations within the Gaza Strip.

Al-Asimi stated that the center has provided 6,500 tons of aid to Gaza so far, and over 14,000 tons to Sudan.

The assistance includes shelter materials, food supplies, logistics, and medical aid.

He emphasized that this support is part of the ongoing relief efforts by Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian and Sudanese people due to the ongoing crises in their regions.

He also revealed that preparations are underway to send another batch of aid to Sudan within the next two weeks via a maritime bridge.

This shipment will include shelter materials, food supplies, and other relief items.

Additionally, new aid shipments are being prepared to be sent to Gaza through Saudi air and sea bridges, which will include food, logistics, shelter materials, and medical supplies.

On Monday, Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, inaugurated the departure of the two relief ships for the Palestinian and Sudanese people.

The event was attended by the Saudi ambassador to Jordan and Palestine, as well as the Saudi ambassador to Sudan.

Al-Rabeeah highlighted the generous support provided by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for humanitarian work worldwide.

He noted that Saudi Arabia has consistently extended aid and support to affected and needy countries and peoples, acting as a warm and humane touch that alleviates the suffering of the most vulnerable groups globally.

He emphasized that these efforts are part of Saudi Arabia’s historical role in standing by those in need and affected by crises.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the eighth relief ship for the Palestinian people in Gaza carries food baskets, shelter materials, power generators, and heavy equipment such as bulldozers, water tanks, and forklifts.

Meanwhile, the 31st relief ship for the Sudanese people is loaded with food, shelter, and medical supplies to be distributed in targeted areas in Sudan to mitigate the current crisis.

This shipment follows Saudi Arabia’s recent delivery of equipment and supplies to Jordan through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. These supplies were handed over to the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization for delivery to the Jordanian Armed Forces (Arab Army) and relevant authorities.
