The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, has accepted an invitation from Iran’s acting president Mohammad Mokhber to visit Tehran, as reported by the Iranian MEHR News Agency on Saturday.
This diplomatic development followed a phone call on Friday between the Saudi Crown Prince and Mokhber, during which Prince Mohammed extended his condolences for the recent passing of President Ebrahim Raisi and others in a helicopter crash last Sunday.
In their conversation, Mokhber expressed appreciation for the condolences, emphasizing the significance of maintaining and enhancing the friendly relations between Tehran and Riyadh. The Saudi Crown Prince underscored the critical role both nations play in the region and the Islamic world, suggesting that strengthened ties could pave the way for a prosperous future for the region.
Moreover, Prince Mohammed expressed Saudi Arabia’s eagerness to enhance economic relations with Iran, marking a potential positive shift in the historically strained relations between the two nations.
