Morocco and the United States have signed a roadmap for military cooperation in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. This agreement outlines the directives for implementing activities approved during the 13th session of the Moroccan-American Defense Advisory Committee.

Following the second working meeting of the Moroccan-American Defense Advisory Committee at the headquarters of the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco, medals were awarded by King Mohammed VI, the Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco, to three American officers.

These officers were honored for their efforts in developing and enhancing Moroccan-American military cooperation.

The recipients included Major General Daniel Boyack, Commander of the Utah National Guard; Lieutenant Colonel Terrymore Shamell, Chief of the Office of Security Cooperation (OSC) at the U.S. Embassy in Rabat; and Commander Christopher Tarbet, an OSC officer at the U.S. Embassy in Rabat responsible for bilateral affairs.

Moroccan-American military cooperation is governed by a series of agreements, memoranda of understanding, and technical bilateral understandings, which define the modalities of execution and cooperation. This framework ensures a structured and strategic partnership between the two nations’ armed forces.

This roadmap is expected to strengthen the existing ties and pave the way for more collaborative efforts in military training, joint exercises, and defense strategies, contributing to regional stability and security.
