Reports from Anadolu Agency reveal that Turkish experts are currently working on a project aimed at leveraging artificial intelligence to combat espionage activities targeting the nation.

According to the agency, the tracking of objects traversing Turkish airspace, including spacecraft and satellites, will be facilitated through the application of artificial intelligence, thus aiding in the identification of potential espionage endeavors.

Professor Taha Sevim Çağlayan, Vice President of the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK), indicated that ongoing research at the university focuses on the use of artificial intelligence, specifically deep learning, to determine satellite orbits.

This initiative seeks to bolster Turkey’s spatial awareness and enhance its overall capabilities in this domain.

Of paramount importance, Çağlayan emphasized, is the significance of the project’s localization in terms of national security implementation.

The project’s development aims to enable the tracking of domestic spy satellites, utilizing artificial intelligence to ascertain their orbits and monitoring their presence over Turkish airspace.

This strategic approach will facilitate the concealment of activities deemed sensitive and undesirable for satellite espionage detection.
