The Tunisian Presidency announced on Saturday a trilateral summit gathering the heads of state of Tunisia, Libya, and Algeria.

The summit, scheduled for Monday in the capital, will be attended by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Libyan Presidential Council President Mohammed Younes Al Menfi.

A statement from the Tunisian Presidency revealed that the visit came at the invitation of President Kais Saied to participate in a consultative meeting among the leaders of the three countries, without disclosing further details about the agenda of the meeting.

The Tunisian Presidency clarified in a statement that Tebboune and Menfi will visit Tunisia next Monday, upon Saied’s invitation, “to participate in the first consultative meeting among the three sisterly countries’ leaders.”

The first meeting between the three presidents took place on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Algeria last March, concluding with an agreement to hold a summit every three months to coordinate “frameworks of partnership and cooperation,” with Tunisia hosting the first meeting.
