King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasised the paramount importance of national security and sovereignty, stating that “the security of Jordan and its sovereignty are above all considerations, and protecting our citizens is our foremost priority.”

During a meeting with community leaders and representatives from the Mafraq Governorate held at the historic Hejaz Railway station on Tuesday, the Jordanian monarch reassured that Jordan will not become a battleground for any external forces.

The meeting was part of the silver jubilee celebrations highlighting the historical and strategic importance of Mafraq’s location on international routes.

King Abdullah II, accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, expressed his pride in Jordan’s retired military personnel, who he described as a crucial support system to the active members of the Jordanian Armed Forces and security agencies.

He highlighted their enduring role in defending the nation and safeguarding its future.

The King also pointed out the significant historical and strategic value of Mafraq, expressing his pleasure to be among his people in the governorate, who have made their city a central meeting point for all.
