Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on Tuesday that Zomi Frankcom, an Australian aid worker, was among those killed in a strike in Gaza.

Frankcom, who was volunteering with the World Central Kitchen, was recognized for her commendable efforts in distributing food in the besieged region of the Gaza Strip.

Albanese condemned the incident as entirely unacceptable and demanded full accountability for the loss of aid workers, expressing deep condolences to Frankcom’s family.

He noted Frankcom’s character and her desire to assist through charity work.

The incident involved the killing of four foreign aid workers, including Frankcom, and their Palestinian driver, following an Israeli strike on their vehicle. The casualties were reported by the health ministry in the territory governed by Hamas.

World Central Kitchen is noted for being among the organizations leading aid delivery efforts from Cyprus by boat.

In response to the tragedy, Albanese stated that Australia would seek an explanation from Israeli officials, emphasizing the need for full accountability for an event that should not have occurred.

The Israeli military has indicated that it is undertaking a comprehensive investigation at senior levels to ascertain the details of the incident that led to these unfortunate deaths.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced the martyrdom of 171 of its employees during the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7th.

According to the agency’s report today, as of the 25th of this month, the total number of its employees who have been martyred since the start of the war on Gaza reached 171.

The agency mentioned that many of its facilities in various parts of the sector have been targeted during the Israeli war on Gaza, the latest being an attack on a food aid distribution centre in the Al-Nuseirat camp in central Gaza on March 14th, which resulted in the martyrdom of 8 people.
