Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 32nd Arab League summit, as reported by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Al-Sisi was warmly welcomed by various officials, including Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the deputy governor of Mecca, and Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

The 32nd Arab League summit, set to take place on Friday, will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, providing an opportunity for leaders to convene and discuss recent developments. Notably, the summit follows Saudi Arabia’s recent steps towards reconciling with Syria, marking a significant shift after years of isolation due to Syria’s crackdown on protests that ultimately led to a devastating war.

In a gesture of diplomatic engagement, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz extended an invitation to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to attend the summit. As per the Syrian presidency, President al-Assad will travel to the Kingdom on Thursday to participate in the meeting.

The Arab League summit serves as a crucial platform for Arab leaders to address regional challenges, foster cooperation, and seek common ground on various regional issues. The participation of President Al-Sisi and President al-Assad underscores the significance of this gathering as a forum for open dialogue and diplomatic efforts among Arab nations.
