The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported an increase in the number of victims of malnutrition and dehydration, with the death toll reaching 23 in the Gaza Strip, according to the “Cairo News” channel in a breaking news report.

Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes targeting two houses in the town of Qarara, northeast of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of more than 12 people and injuring dozens, in addition to a number of individuals missing under the rubble.

Since the outbreak of the war on October 7, the situation in Gaza has been dire. The death toll has escalated to 31,302 Palestinians and about 1,139 people in Israel. The humanitarian impact in Gaza is profound, with significant casualties among children and women, extensive damage to homes, hospitals, schools, and places of worship, and a severe disruption of basic services like healthcare and water supply.

Recent Israeli raids in areas like Deir el-Balah and Rafah have intensified the situation, leading to more deaths and injuries. Despite international calls for restraint, the violence has continued, affecting civilians and infrastructure alike.

The UN Secretary-General has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, highlighting the staggering civilian casualties and the unacceptable toll the conflict has taken on women and children. The WHO has been involved in evacuating critical patients from Al-Shifa Hospital, one of the many medical facilities overwhelmed by the crisis.

Displacement is widespread, with a significant portion of Gaza’s population seeking shelter in UNRWA installations, and fuel shortages have further crippled the already dire humanitarian situation.
