Qadura Fares, the head of the Palestinian Commission of Detainees Affairs, has confirmed that the Israeli Prison Service has relocated Marwan Barghouti from solitary confinement in Rimonim Prison to solitary confinement in Ramla Prison.

Fares asserted that these actions by the Israel form part of a broader strategy targeting all prisoners since October 7, involving widespread transfers, both collective and solitary confinement, along with systematic torture operations.

Expressing concern for Barghouti’s safety, Fares highlighted the prohibition of lawyer visits and the repeated transfers while in solitary confinement.

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees Affairs has called upon international and local institutions to fulfill their responsibilities.

They urged swift efforts to visit prisons and address the unprecedented measures and violations against prisoners that have endured for decades.

The situation emphasizes the ongoing challenges surrounding the treatment and conditions of detainees, raising concerns about human rights and proper legal procedures.
