EgyptAir, the national carrier, has announced the availability of a free transit visa to enter the Arab Republic of Egypt, valid from 8 hours up to 96 hours. This visa can be obtained upon arrival at Cairo International Airport. Passengers should head to the EgyptAir transit office at Cairo Airport to fill out a data form that facilitates acquiring the arrival visa for free, with no fees charged for this service.

This initiative comes in light of the efforts being exerted by the Egyptian state to stimulate inbound tourist traffic to Egypt, which aims to achieve the sustainable development goals in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision.

This move is part of the directives of Major General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Minister of Civil Aviation, to provide all forms of support and facilitation to visitors to Egypt, benefiting both the aviation and tourism sectors, and the Egyptian state at large.
