CNN reports that over 425 flights were canceled, and more than 2,525 others delayed across California airports due to storms that struck the state last night.
The highest number of cancellations occurred at San Francisco International Airport, with over 255 flights affected, while the majority of delays, exceeding 1,100 instances, were recorded at Los Angeles International Airport.
In response to the crisis, President Joe Biden, during a phone call with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, promised to provide all necessary assistance to mitigate the storm’s aftermath.
The New York Times also reported that three individuals lost their lives due to falling trees during the storm. It noted that the past Sunday ranked as the tenth wettest day in Los Angeles’ recorded history.
This incident has significantly disrupted travel plans, highlighting the extensive impact severe weather can have on transportation and safety.
