The Sudanese Army is extending its territorial control in the ancient parts of Omdurman, engaging in a comprehensive sweep of the intersections between Al-Arda and Al-Arbaeen, as reported by Cairo News TV’s correspondent. This expansion comes amid ongoing tensions in the region.

In a significant development, the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, briefed the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Sudan, Ramtane Lamamra, on the grave violations and atrocities committed by militias against state institutions, infrastructure, and the civilian populace, including forced displacements and humiliations.

During their meeting in Port Sudan, al-Burhan provided a detailed account of the situation in Sudan before, during, and after the conflict, reiterating the government’s commitment to democratic transition and the roadmap towards general elections, as outlined by the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA).

The Sudanese Army’s efforts to consolidate control in key areas of Omdurman underscore the government’s determination to restore order and stability, amid complex challenges facing the country’s transitional journey towards democracy.
