In a recent phone call, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi underscored the critical importance of maintaining close coordination between their countries.
They emphasized the need to continue exerting pressure for a ceasefire in Gaza, to protect civilians, and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.
During their conversation on Monday, both leaders reaffirmed their complete rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinian brothers and sisters in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. They stressed the necessity of enabling Gazans to return to their homes.
The two leaders also expressed concern over the ongoing exacerbation of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza. They called upon the international community for immediate action in this regard.
King Abdullah and President El-Sisi reiterated their solidarity with the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent, sovereign state based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
They emphasized that there can be no peace or stability in the region without a just solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution.
