In a significant escalation of hostilities, Russia initiated drone and missile attacks aimed at civilian and critical infrastructure across expansive areas of Ukraine, as reported by Kyiv’s Air Force on Sunday.

According to preliminary information, the air force conveyed that there were no reported casualties resulting from the attacks. The details were shared on the Telegram messaging app.

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has witnessed an intensification of air attacks in recent months, with both nations targeting critical military, energy, and transport infrastructure.

The air force’s statement outlined that Russia employed two ballistic missiles launched from the Iskander ballistic missile system to attack the central Poltava region. Additionally, three surface-to-air missiles were launched over the Donetsk region in the east.

Filip Pronin, the governor of the Poltava region, provided additional information on the attack, stating on Telegram that the strike targeted an industrial site in the city of Kremenchuk, leading to a subsequent fire. Images shared on social media depicted emergency crews working to contain the blaze.

The situation highlights the increasing severity of the conflict and the impact on both civilian areas and critical infrastructure in the affected regions.
