As a precautionary measure, the terminal was cleared out, as stated on the airport’s official website.
Flight activities at the airport, which is uniquely positioned at the tri-border area of Switzerland, France, and Germany, have been put on hold for the time being. The airport was made inaccessible from just before 6 a.m.
Providing context to this event, it’s noteworthy that EuroAirport experienced a similar situation last October.
During that time, a series of false bomb threats were reported, necessitating the temporary evacuation of the airport.

French police recently detained a 13-year-old for allegedly making over 380 fake bomb threats.
The young individual is accused of sending these threats via email or phone to various locations including airports, courthouses, and universities throughout France.
Local media identified him as facing numerous charges, including disseminating false information about potential destruction and issuing death threats.
Since the autumn of 2023, France has seen a significant rise in hoax threats. A specific instance in Rennes, a city in western France, involved multiple bogus bomb alerts in early January, which led to the questioning of a family from Laval, located about 45 miles away.
