Israel carried out 12 airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Friday, targeting an area between the towns of Ramiya and Aita al-Shaab, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
The agency added that Israeli airstrikes caused environmental damage in the targeted area, destroying large areas of trees.
The airstrikes came amid heightened tensions between Israel and Lebanon. In recent weeks, the Lebanese Hezbollah group has fired rockets into Israel, and Israel has responded with airstrikes.
The Lebanese government has condemned the Israeli airstrikes, calling them a “violation of Lebanese sovereignty.”
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has also condemned the airstrikes, calling on both sides to exercise restraint.
