The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has declared that the Gaza Strip has completed 100 days of severe humanitarian crisis, characterized by death, destruction, and displacement. The situation in Gaza is a human-made disaster, the agency emphasizes, with the Palestinian population facing extreme adversity.

In a recent statement published on its official website, UNRWA pointed out that the ongoing conflict, which has now entered its fourth month, has resulted in the displacement of approximately 90% of Gaza’s population. Among these, 1.4 million people have sought refuge within UNRWA facilities.

The agency highlighted the critical shortage of basic necessities, including water and food, which have become tools of warfare in the region. This dire situation has led to widespread suffering and a significant humanitarian crisis.

The agency’s report underscores the escalating tension and the devastating impact of the conflict on the civilian population in Gaza. The UNRWA’s focus remains on providing essential services and support to the displaced population, amidst challenging conditions. The international community has been called upon to address the crisis and provide immediate relief to those affected.

The situation in Gaza stands as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for peace and stability in the region. UNRWA continues to advocate for the rights and well-being of Palestinian refugees, emphasizing the need for a sustainable solution to the ongoing conflict.
