Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Security Council, Vassily Nebenzia, has urged the international community to condemn the attacks on Yemen carried out by Washington and its allies.

These attacks, according to Nebenzia, were executed without authorization from the United Nations Security Council.

In this section, we’ll delve into Nebenzia’s statements during the Security Council session, as reported by Sputnik news agency.

He emphasized the United Nations’ primary role, as stated in its charter, to prevent threats to peace and suppress acts of aggression or other peace violations according to international law principles.

Nebenzia expressed deep regret over these violations, specifically referring to the “American-British aggression on Yemen.”

This part will focus on the details of the American and British aggression in Yemen. It will describe the airstrikes that targeted the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and several other provinces, highlighting the severity of the situation and the consequences of these military actions.

Here, we will cover Nebenzia’s rebuttal of the claims made by the United States and its allies to justify their aggression in Yemen.

He asserted that the American-British attacks do not relate to the right of self-defense as per Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, arguing that this right cannot be used to ensure freedom of navigation, a point well-known to the Americans.

The article will also address Nebenzia’s call during the session for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He warned that the continuation of Israeli aggression could plunge the entire region into a widespread war with global consequences.

The Security Council’s adoption of a resolution calling for a temporary truce in Gaza on November 15, following several thwarted attempts by Washington to adopt a ceasefire resolution, will be discussed.

In conclusion, the article will highlight the broader implications of these conflicts on international relations and peace efforts.

It will underscore the need for diplomatic solutions and international cooperation to address such complex geopolitical issues.
