The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) has confirmed that nearly 90% of Gaza’s population has experienced forced displacement and lacks necessities, according to Arab World News Agency.

UNRWA, on its official platform, called for an immediate ceasefire to provide urgent assistance to Gaza and to end ongoing forced displacement.

The international organization warned that there is no safe place in Gaza, with the specter of famine looming over the region.

UNRWA’s Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, emphasized the worsening crisis in Gaza during a visit to the territory last month.

He stated that Gaza’s residents long for safety and an end to what he described as a “hell on earth,” highlighting their dire need for everything.

Israel has imposed a comprehensive blockade on the coastal enclave for over three months since the conflict began. The only exit for Gaza’s residents is through the border with Egypt.

The majority of Gaza’s population, totaling 2.3 million people, has been displaced from their homes, and residents claim that finding shelter or food in the territory is nearly impossible. Over 22,000 people have been killed in the region thus far.

Gazan residents forced to flee repeatedly are dying from hunger, cold, and airstrikes, and they have reported desperate attacks on aid trucks and soaring prices.
