Suez Canal University has been ranked 23rd among Arab universities and 11th among Egyptian universities in the first edition of the Arab University Rankings, launched by the Arab Universities Union in cooperation with the Arab League, the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO), and the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils.

The rankings included 208 Arab universities, representing 16 countries out of a total of 22 Arab League member states.

Suez Canal University President Nasser Mandour said that the rankings are designed to improve the quality of higher education and research in Arab universities, and to help them lead the Arab development process.

Mandour added that the rankings also aim to create a global ranking for Arab universities that meets the needs of the Arab world and is comparable to other international university rankings.

The rankings are based on four key performance indicators: education and learning, research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international and local cooperation and community service.

Suez Canal University ranked 17th among Arab universities and 7th among Egyptian universities in the education and learning indicator. In the international and local cooperation and community service indicator, the university ranked 19th among Arab universities and 8th among Egyptian universities.
