NATO has initiated its largest air force deployment exercise in Europe, demonstrating unity among its partners and addressing potential threats, including Russia.
Dubbed “Air Defender 23” and led by Germany, the exercise involves approximately 250 military aircraft from 25 NATO and partner countries. Participants include Japan and Sweden, which is seeking NATO membership. The exercise will continue until June 23.
With up to 10,000 service members taking part, the drills aim to enhance interoperability and readiness to counter drones and cruise missiles in the event of an attack within NATO territory.
The exercise seeks to strengthen the alliance’s preparedness and defense capabilities.
