Chad has summoned its Chargé d’Affaires at the embassy in Israel for consultations on Saturday, expressing vehement protest against what it termed as “massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip.”
The Chadian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the significant loss of civilian lives in Gaza and issued a call for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing the need for a lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
Diplomatic relations between Chad and Israel date back to the era of former President Idriss Deby, and these ties were further developed during the tenure of his son, General Mohamed Deby. Earlier this year, General Mohamed Deby visited Israel, engaging in discussions with various officials.
The Israeli aggression against Gaza persists into its 29th day, resulting in a tragic toll of 9,500 casualties, including 3,900 children and 2,509 women, as reported by News Directory. The summoning of the Chargé d’Affaires reflects Chad’s strong stance against the ongoing violence in the region.
