Amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, has ordered support for Palestinians, as reported by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, based on insights from the intelligence agency of neighboring South Korea.

South Korean intelligence suggests that Kim Jong Un might also be considering the sale of arms to armed groups in the Middle East.

This information was divulged by lawmakers in South Korea following a briefing they received from intelligence representatives.

In the past, North Korea has sold anti-tank missile launchers to Hamas, and there’s a possibility that amid the 26-day long war in Gaza, it might attempt to export more weapons, say these officials.

Following the unprecedented and sudden attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, South Korea’s army, based on published photos and videos, claimed that multiple North Korean weapons were utilized.

However, North Korea refuted these allegations, labeling them as “false news.” A few days post the outbreak of war, it held Israel responsible for initiating the fight and the subsequent casualties, considering the United States as an accomplice in the “Israeli genocide of the population in the Gaza Strip.”

North Korea described the incidents at the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza as a “horrendous war crime and an unimaginable, unethical crime.”

Denying the use of its weapons in the Hamas attack, North Korea stated that such reports are a “Washington attempt to shift the blame in the conflict to a third country,” adding that the solution to the conflict lies in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
