The World Health Organization’s (WHO) spokesperson, Margaret Harris, revealed the organization has prepared 5 trucks with urgent medical supplies for Gaza.

Harris stated that the trucks carry essential medications for chronic diseases, including hypertension and diabetes. They also include equipment for urgent surgeries, notably childbirth procedures, aiming to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in Gaza.

These aids will meet the immediate needs of about 300,000 people in the region. Harris expressed hope for safe corridors to deliver these supplies to those affected by the current events in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Russia and Ireland have also provided urgent humanitarian and medical assistance to the Palestinian people in Gaza in response to continuous intense Israeli bombings.

Notably, Germany has pledged to increase its humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip to €50 million (approximately $52.91 million), responding to the worsening humanitarian crisis affecting 2.3 million people in the region.

Annalena Baerbock, the German Foreign Minister, made this announcement while speaking to journalists in Amman, where she met her Jordanian counterpart as part of a regional tour that also includes stops in Israel and Lebanon.

The German aid will support international organizations such as the World Food Programme, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), and UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East).

Baerbock emphasized, “The dire situation, resulting from the horrific terrorist attacks by Hamas, has also created a catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.” The additional funding aims to provide much-needed relief to the people of Gaza, who have been enduring severe challenges amid ongoing conflicts and instability.
