On Friday, Hirokazu Matsuno, the Secretary-General of the Japanese Cabinet, announced in a press conference that the government would send a chartered flight to Tel Aviv tomorrow, Saturday, to evacuate Japanese citizens.
He stated that due to the reduction in airline flights from Tel Aviv, including those to Japan, in light of the tense situation between Israel and Gaza, and because of the significant and rapid changes in the situation there, the government conducted a survey among Japanese citizens in Israel regarding their intentions to leave the country.
It has been decided to operate a chartered flight from Tel Aviv to Dubai on October 14th to evacuate the Japanese citizens and ensure their safety,” he continued.
Last Saturday morning, Hamas launched the “Al-Aqsa Flood” by firing thousands of rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel and infiltrating several settlements in the Gaza periphery.
A street war broke out between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces, with the latter responding by launching “Operation Iron Swords” and conducting airstrikes and intense shelling on the Gaza Strip.
