The Mayon volcano, the most active volcano in the Philippines, erupted, emitting ash and rocks and prompting the evacuation of thousands of people from their homes.

As a result of the eruption, schools and offices in Albay province, located in southern Luzon, were temporarily suspended.

The affected residents have been relocated to classrooms and churches as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.
