The United Nations’ Emergency Relief Coordinator has announced the allocation of $9 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund to fund immediate humanitarian efforts in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to the Palestinian news agency “WAFA.

Taking to his “X” account, UN Coordinator Martin Griffiths highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

On October 7, 2023, Palestinian resistance factions launched a significant operation known as “Al-Aqsa Flood,” primarily targeting Israeli settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip.

The operation involved surprise, rapid, and intensive tactics, utilizing various weapons to target these settlements.

The Israeli offensive in Gaza has continued for six consecutive days, resulting in more casualties and injuries among civilians, along with extensive damage to homes, residential towers, properties, and infrastructure.

This funding allocation by the UN aims to address the urgent humanitarian needs arising from the ongoing crisis in the region, providing essential assistance to those affected by the conflict.
