Saudi Arabia has urged an immediate halt to the escalation of tensions between Palestinians and Israelis, as the Kingdom closely monitors the evolving situation.

The call comes amid unprecedented developments between Palestinian factions and Israeli forces, resulting in a surge of violence across several fronts.

In a statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, the Kingdom stated, “Saudi Arabia is closely following the unprecedented developments between various Palestinian factions and Israeli occupying forces, leading to an escalation of violence in several areas.”

“The Kingdom calls for an immediate de-escalation between the parties, the protection of civilians, and the exercise of restraint,” the statement continued.

Saudi Arabia also reiterated its repeated warnings about the dangers of an explosive situation resulting from continued occupation and the denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

It condemned the deliberate provocations against sacred sites.

The statement concluded with Saudi Arabia renewing its call to the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and activate a credible peaceful process leading to a two-state solution.

Such a solution, the Kingdom emphasized, should ensure security and peace in the region while safeguarding civilians.
