Egypt Sets October 5th for Presidential Nominations

Today, Monday, Counselor Walid Hassan Hamza, the President of the National Election Authority and Deputy Head of the Court of Cassation, officially announced the opening of the nomination period for the upcoming presidential elections.

Speaking at a press conference held to release the timetable for the next presidential election proceedings, the head of the National Election Authority declared the commencement of the nomination process for a new 6-year presidential term.

This period will span from October 5th to the 14th, following the procedures and criteria defined by the authority’s decision in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and the law that oversee this process, ensuring its integrity.

The presidential elections are set to take place across 10,085 sub-committees throughout the country. The National Election Authority has conducted an inspection of these committees to confirm their technical and structural integrity. This ensures a streamlined voting process, facilitating citizens who wish to cast their votes and ensuring their safety.
