In the ongoing conflict that has now entered its 20th month, Russian airstrikes on Sunday killed two people and injured three others in Ukraine’s Kherson province, according to the region’s governor.
Governor Oleksandr Prokudin disclosed that Russian forces conducted an airstrike in the city of Beryslav, resulting in the destruction of several private residences.
This tragic incident claimed the life of a woman and left three individuals wounded, among them a police officer.
These attacks occurred within the Ukrainian-controlled sector of the Kherson region.
This region, bisected by the Dnieper River, has served as a significant demarcation line since Russian forces withdrew from its western bank in November 2022—a retreat that notably bolstered the morale of Ukraine. Subsequently,
Russian forces regrouped on the river’s eastern bank and continue to shell cities and villages on the opposing side, including Kherson, the regional capital, which was initially occupied but later liberated by Ukrainian forces over 10 months ago.
In a separate incident within Russia, a Ukrainian drone struck an administrative building in Kursk, resulting in minimal damage to the roof, according to regional Governor Roman Starovoit.
No casualties were reported, and the nature of the building’s occupancy remains undisclosed.
