according to a spokesperson from the embassy. Jake Nelson, communicating with “Reuters”, confirmed that the embassy was shot at on Wednesday without any casualties.

“At 10:37 pm local time, there were reports of light firearms being discharged near the entrance of the US embassy,” Nelson clarified.

He added, “There were no casualties and our facilities are secure. We are in close contact with law enforcement authorities of the host country.”

The United States owns an extensive diplomatic compound in Lebanon, located approximately 13 kilometers from the center of the capital, Beirut. This sprawling compound was constructed on the site of the current embassy and resembles a city in itself.

Spanning across 43 acres, the complex is situated in the Awkar suburb of Beirut. Its area is roughly two and a half times the size of the land upon which the White House is built and can encompass over 21 soccer fields.
